Support the mission
Giving to a registered public charity
Affirm1776 is a 501(c)(3) public charity, recognised as tax-exempt since September 2007. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Preservation and public education are funded work: storage, conservation, transcription, and the patient labour of making material legible to people outside the field. Support goes to that.
The foundation is not accepting gifts through this website at present. If you would like to give, please write to us using the contact form and we will confirm how contributions are currently being received, together with an acknowledgement for your records.

Each of these begins with a message rather than a form. We would rather hear what you actually want to do than sort you into a programme.
Support the mission

Historical work depends on patient hands: transcription, indexing, proofreading, and helping other people find their way into a collection. Tell us what you can offer and how much time you have.
Bring history to a classroom or group
If you teach, run a homeschool co-operative, or organise a library or community group and would like to discuss founding-era material, we are glad to hear from you.
Contribute research
Researchers, genealogists, and local historians frequently hold material that a wider audience never sees. If your work touches this ground, we would like to know about it.
Partner with us
Libraries, historical societies, museums, and educational organisations working on related ground are welcome to make contact about collaboration.
Pass it on
The simplest contribution is circulation: send this site to a teacher, a student, or someone who has been meaning to read the founding documents for years.
